Later this year, RecycleForce will be moving from our long-time home at 754 Sherman Avenue in Indianapolis to the Circle City Industrial Complex at 1125 Brookside Ave. I have been working at our location in Sherman Park since 1996 when my wife Jannett and I founded Keys to Work, Inc. RecycleForce, which began as Workforce, Inc., has been operating at the Sherman Park location since Tom Gray and I founded our social enterprise in 2006.
I anticipated we would have remained at Sherman Park forever as the location has been ideal for RecycleForce; however, Sherman Park is going to be torn down. We have worked hard to stay in the building but it no longer possible as utilities and other infrastructure will be locked off later this summer in preparation for demolition.
We feel we have a long relationship with the community groups, businesses and neighbors of the near eastside communities around Sherman Park.
After a long and diligent search for a suitable location for our operations, we have settled on the 80,000 sq ft space at the back end of the old Switzer Building. We have received numerous questions from our new neighbors about the impending move and subsquently, we've created a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs).
The FAQ is a living document and the answers in the linked document are based on facts and figures as of March 26, 2012. We will keep this list of questions updated as often as possible. If the answers to these questions raises any concerns, I encourage you to contact me or come to our open house on March 31, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
