RecycleForce Naming Dedication to Honor the Shah Family

This week, we dedicated RecycleForce’s new permanent home in loving memory of Mrs. Gunvanti Shah and Mr. Bhogilal Shah, whose lives were devoted to creating opportunity and lifting up others.

Gunvanti and Bhogilal moved to the U.S. later in life to be close to their children and grandchildren, living between Indianapolis and California. While their home changed, their values never did. They believed deeply in second chances, dignity in work, and the power of service—values that now live on through RecycleForce.

This tribute was made possible by Manu Shah, Mrs. Shah’s brother, and his wife Rika, through the Shah Happiness Foundation. Manu, a Purdue graduate and former Fort Wayne resident, co-founded MSI Surfaces more than 50 years ago. We are honored to celebrate their legacy as part of our shared mission to give people, and materials, a second chance!

“The work to help those coming home from prison after serving their sentence has always been hard and complicated,” said RecycleForce President Gregg Keesling. “Our work has historically been intertwined with broader poverty mitigation efforts. As our country faces the changes to how we serve and engage those left behind, and as our state and Indiana municipalities work to address the myriad changes; to have the Shah Happiness Foundation find us during this tumultuous time of change is timely.”
